Ursel Meyer-Wolf

Ursel Meyer-Wolf (born April 27, 1944 in Syke - Barrien ; † May 6, 2020 in Weyhe ; pseudonyms Ursel Meyer and Ursel Wolf ) was a German author who wrote works in the Low German language, but also sang and composed.

life and work

She lived in Weyhe , Lower Saxony, and worked as a Low German author in the Bremen region. Since 1975 she has been writing stories, radio plays and songs, which she has presented in numerous public events to cultivate the Low German language. She became known through readings and recitals in the districts of Diepholz and Verden, Bremen and Hamburg, and she also appeared on radio (RB) and television (ARD / SR, ZDF, N3). In 1990 she and Heinrich Schmidt-Barrien were awarded the Diepholz district's culture prize.
