Ursula Heinze de Lorenzo

Ursula Heinze de Lorenzo (also: Úrsula Heinze , born June 18, 1941 in Cologne as Ursula Heinze ) is a German - Galician writer .

Life

Ursula Heinze studied German and English at the University of Cologne . After successfully completing this degree in 1966, she married the Galician linguist Ramón Lorenzo , whom she followed to Spain . From 1973 to 1977 she taught German at the University of Valladolid . She has lived as a freelance writer in Santiago de Compostela since 1977 and has contributed articles in Galician to radio, press and literary magazines. Her works in book form are primarily narrative works in Galician; In addition, she has been publishing poems in German since the 1990s and translating from German into Galician.

Ursula Heinze de Lorenzo co-founded the Galician PEN Club in 1989 , and was its president from 1991 to 1995. She has been a member of the PEN Center Germany since 1995 . She received u. a. The following Galician literary prizes: 1986 the Premio Merlín for youth literature, 1993 the Premio Blanco Amor , 1994 the Premio Losada Diéguez and in 2005 the Prize of the Galician PEN Club.
