Ursula Müller (journalist)

Ursula Müller (born August 1, 1926 in Kötzschenbroda ; † September 30, 2019 ) was a German journalist and editor .

Life

She was the daughter of the chemist and Dresden university professor Friedrich Müller . After attending elementary school for four years , she attended the municipal secondary school for girls in Radebeul from 1937 to 1946 . After studying literature , art history and journalism at the University of Bern , Ursula Müller became an editor at the Goslarschen Zeitung in Goslar in the 1950s , where she was most recently deputy editor-in-chief and head of the local editorial office. In 1991 she retired.

Ursula Müller became known nationwide through several publications about Goslar. In particular, however, her persistent persuasion work together with Marta Lattemann-Meyer , then Lord Mayor of Goslar, and Helga Schuchardt as Lower Saxony's Minister of Science, to make the Rammelsberg ore mine , the imperial Palatinate district and Goslar's historic old town a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1992 , became the 25th anniversary of the Appointment honored. Today, the ensembles of historical buildings and technical monuments of the Upper Harz mining industry, which have since been expanded, are combined to form the serial UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Rammelsberg mine, the old town of Goslar and the Upper Harz water management .
