Ursula Nold

Ursula Gabriela Nold (born March 29, 1969 in Bern ) is a Swiss manager. She is President of the Federation of Migros Cooperatives and lecturer at the University of Education in Bern for management and system development. She also holds various administrative and foundation board mandates.

Life

childhood

Ursula Nold was born in Bern in 1969. She grew up with her three siblings in a middle-class , conservative family. Her father Urs Meier was an architect , her mother Susanne Meier was a housewife and language teacher at the Migros Club School .

education

After her pedagogical training, Nold completed further training at the University of St. Gallen during her professional career , which she completed in 2013 with an Executive Master of Business Administration . Her thesis was awarded the 2013 NZZ Prize for the best project work of the 2013 EMBA course. In 2018, Nold also completed the International Directors Program at the INSEAD Graduate Business School in Fontainebleau , France.

Career

From 1989 to 1999 Nold was a teacher and principal at the elementary school in the canton of Bern . From 1999 to 2006, she worked as the head of the marketing department and quality management at the education, consulting and conference center Inforama. Since 2006 she has been a lecturer at the University of Education in Bern in the Institute for Further Education and Media Education in the field of management and system development, with an additional teaching position in Berlin.

Ursula Nold was President of the Assembly of Delegates of the Federation of Migros Cooperatives, the supreme body of Migros, from 2008 to June 30, 2019. The assembly of delegates approves, among other things, the annual report and the annual accounts, and approves the basic course of business policy. Nold had previously been a member of the Migros Aare Cooperative Council since 1996 . From 2004 she was president of this council. Nold is a member of several boards of directors and foundation boards. She is the chairwoman of the board of directors of be-advanced AG and of the cooperative enterprise interest group and a member of the supervisory and administrative board of WKS KV Bildung AG.

On March 23, 2019, she was elected as the new Migros President and took up this position on July 1, 2019. She is the first woman in this position at Migros. She had prevailed against the candidate Jeannine Pilloud .

Private life

Nold has been married to Vincens Nold , a public prosecutor at the Federal Prosecutor's Office , since 1993 and has four children. She speaks fluent German, French and English. She has been a qualified tennis teacher for the Swiss Tennis Association since 1993.
