Uta Kolano

Uta Kolano (* 1966 in Erfurt ) is a German film - and non-fiction - writer and director .

Life

Uta Kolano studied philosophy and cultural studies at the Humboldt University Berlin (diploma). She then worked as a dramaturge at DEFA , as a freelance filmmaker and then as program editor at Ostdeutscher Rundfunk Brandenburg .

From 1995 to 2010 Kolano worked again as a freelance writer and / or director (e.g. for ZEITZEUGEN film and television production) and realized more than 25 documentaries and reports for ARD , MDR , rbb , arte , WDR and hr . From 2011 to 2018 she was a research assistant at the Department of Media and Communication Studies at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg. Since 2019 she has been project manager at the Sustainability Center Thuringia.
