Ute Claussen

Ute Claussen (born November 7, 1962 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German computer scientist specializing in real-time image processing and light calculation. She is the author of a number of specialist books and articles.

education and profession

Ute Claussen studied computer science at the TH Darmstadt and received her diploma in 1986 for a thesis on the simulation of a workstation concept with distributed cache image memory . Afterwards she did her doctorate until 1991 at the Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen in the department of physics on methods for fast lighting and shading calculations . Between 1993 and 2003 Claussen worked for various university institutes and private companies, including Singhammer IT Dortmund, Hochtief in Essen, UP-Vision Computergraphik GmbH in Bad Arolsen and AITEC in Dortmund. Before that, she worked at the Wilhelm Schickard Institute for Computer Science at the University of Tübingen and the Center for Graphic Data Processing in Darmstadt .

She was also a freelancer for the magazine Computermagazin from Stuttgart and published a. a. Articles on the subject of computer graphics. Numerous specialist articles also appeared in c't .

Claussen has been working as a freelance IT consultant since 2003. For many years she was the honorary spokesperson for the specialist committee for women's work and IT in the Society for IT (GI).

Ute Claussen is married and lives in Sendenhorst .
