Tomáš Soltík (born May 9, 1994 ) is a Czech grass skier . He started the World Cup for the first time in 2009 and has so far won three bronze medals at Junior World Championships .

Career

After Tomáš Soltík had already participated in youth competitions for many years, including the Czech Cup, he started in July 2009 for the first time in two World Cup races in Čenkovice , in which he remained without points. Four weeks later he took part in the 2009 Junior World Championships in Horní Lhota u Ostravy , where he finished 22nd in the slalom, 23rd in the super combination and 28th in the super-G placements in the back midfield and was eliminated in the giant slalom. In the 2010 season Soltík took part again in the two World Cup races in Čenkovice, but remained again without World Cup points. In addition to the Czech Cup races, he also started in three FIS races in Forni di Sopra , where he finished 23rd twice.

In the 2011 season , Soltík competed regularly in the World Cup for the first time. He took part in eight of the nine world cup races of the year, won world cup points for the first time with 22nd place in the giant slalom of San Sicario and achieved 14th place in the giant slalom of Forni di Sopra as the best result of the season. A 14th place in the FIS races, achieved in the Wilhelmsburg slalom , was his best result of the season. In the overall World Cup, he finished 32nd. Soltík also took part in the 2011 World Championships and the Junior World Championships held at the same time in Goldingen . In the juniors he won the bronze medal in the slalom and with 13th place in the Super-G also the bronze medal in the combination. In the giant slalom he was disqualified after a goal error in the second run. In the general class, Soltík was 20th in the Super-G and 24th in the giant slalom. He did not take part in the slalom and super combination.

In the 2012 season Soltík was able to improve in the World Cup. He drove three times under the fastest 15 and reached sixth place in the slalom of the World Cup final in Rettenbach, his first top 10 placement. In the overall World Cup he improved to 28th place. As in the previous year, Soltík won the bronze medal in slalom at the 2012 Junior World Championships in Burbach . He was also seventh in the super combined, ninth in the super G and thirteenth in the giant slalom. At national level, he was able to win the junior ranking of the Czech Cup in 2012.
