Ute Karen Seggelke

Ute Karen Seggelke (* 1940 in Braunschweig ) is a German photographer and author who works in Hamburg and North Frisia .

She spent her childhood and youth in Hamburg. After her training as a photographer, she worked for the theater photographer Rosemarie Clausen and the architectural photographer Heinrich Heidersberger . Ute Seggelke taught for twelve years at the University of Fine Arts in Braunschweig (photography in art education and fine art). The photo designer and author also co-founded the Museum of Photography in Braunschweig and directed it for many years.

Her focus is on depicting people, architectural photography and cultural reports. She portrays artists, politicians and managers and creates photo series for various magazines. Her photographs reflect people's circumstances and relationships, their relationship to age and beauty.

Ute Karen Seggelke was recognized for her work by the Art Director's Club and the Book Art Foundation.

Ute Karen Seggelke lives and works as a freelance photographer in North Friesland. In her free time she devotes herself to reading and writing and is interested in languages, ballet and travel.
