Uwe Boden (born September 24, 1959 in Emden , Germany ), 179 cm tall, 97 kg heavy, is a German martial artist and Budo teacher .

Life

Uwe Boden has been practicing martial arts since 1972. Inspired by Bruce Lee's Jeet Kune Do , he began judo training in Leer ( East Friesland ) under the Dutch trainer Arne Dehlis. In 1979, after initial success, he switched to karate and trained in kickboxing in Enschede . One of his trainers , Roland Werk, awarded him his second Dan in Shotokan Karate in Würzburg in 1982 . In the following years, Uwe Boden, who was intensely involved with the Asian martial arts, was able to achieve considerable success. He received Dan graduations in ju-jutsu , judo, kickboxing, kyokushinkai , karate, kobudo , ninjutsu , aikido and ATS ( anti-terror streetfight ). His highest graduation is the sixth dan in Kyokushinkai karate, which is associated with the Japanese honorary title Renshi .

In 1998 he was co-founder of the Federal Association of Self-Defense and has secured seven world championship titles in full contact karate, ATS and sports karate, among others .

successes

In total, he played 64 national and international fights without defeat. He won 63, 60 of them prematurely by knockout , one fight ended in a draw. This makes him a successful karateka in martial arts to this day , who can boast successes both in Germany and internationally. In June 2018 Uwe Boden was added to the honorary portal of the Lower Saxony Institute for Sports History.
