Uwe Bardick (born May 19, 1962 ) is a former soccer player and a victim of the Ministry for State Security ("Stasi") of the GDR.

Although the keeper only made two league appearances in the 1st men's team of 1. FC Magdeburg , he still achieved notoriety. Before the Athletic Bilbao European Cup against 1. FCM in autumn 1985, the team doctor diagnosed Bardick with an alleged inflammation of the elbow. The Stasi suspected Bardick of wanting to flee to the West. The team doctor Hans-Werner Wallstab, IM "Hans Stock", who had previously worked for the Stasi, was instructed not to give the keeper an anti-inflammatory agent but an anti-inflammatory agent. Because of this injection, Bardick had to end his career in the league and was relegated to the 2nd team of 1. FC Magdeburg in 1987. Against the then regular goalkeeper Dirk Heyne , he would hardly have had a chance to play in the first team. He then moved to the third division locomotive Halberstadt. At the same time he was called up for military service in the NVA . Since he was transferred to the Polish border in Drögeheide after a few days , he had to end his active football career. The matter became officially known through research by the Magdeburger Volksstimme in 2005, after which it was also discussed in the European press.

Bardick later moved to Essen in West Germany.

History is currently the theme of the exhibition “Double Game - Soccer in the Sight of the State Security”.
