Uwe Giffei (born June 11, 1972 in Salzgitter ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and was a member of the Hamburg Parliament from 2015 to 2020 .

Uwe Giffei grew up in Woltwiesche . After graduating from high school and community service, he studied history in Göttingen and Hamburg with a master's degree. He works as a church legal advisor for refugees.

Giffei was already a member of the SPD, but then got involved in the Green split-off Rainbow - For a new left - until it was dissolved in 2007 . He has been with the SPD again since 2009.

Giffei was a member of the Eimsbüttel district assembly from 2011 to 2014 . In the citizenship elections in Hamburg 2015 , he moved into the citizenship via the constituency of Rotherbaum-Harvestehude-Eimsbüttel-Ost . He no longer belongs to the citizenship elected in 2020.

Uwe Giffei was a member of the following committees: School Committee, Committee for Social Affairs, Labor and Integration, Committee for Science and Equality. He was the parliamentary group's spokesman for the area of ​​prevention against right-wing extremism.
