Uwe Höfer (born July 21, 1959 in Gelsenkirchen ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

Höfer played in his youth at DJK Adler Buldern , and in 1975 he switched to the youth team at FC Schalke 04 . In 1976 he was in the club's squad for the first time. On the 23rd matchday Höfer came on for the first time in the 2: 3 defeat against Eintracht Braunschweig when he came on for Mathias Schipper in the 72nd minute . That was his only league game in the 1976/77 season .

For the 1977/78 season Uwe Höfer was awarded to SC Westfalia Herne in the 2nd Bundesliga North . Here he scored nine goals in 19 games. For the 1978/79 season Höfer returned to FC Schalke 04. However, after only one game in the first half of the season in the 1: 2 defeat against Fortuna Düsseldorf, he was awarded to Karlsruher SC again in the 2nd Bundesliga (South) . In his first game against FC Hanau 93 (1: 4) he scored two goals for KSC. After seven more games and two goals, Uwe Höfer moved back to FC Schalke 04.

Also in the 1979/80 season Höfer could not prevail as a regular player; he played seven games and scored two goals. In November 1980 Höfer left the club after only ten games in four seasons and two goals towards Kickers Offenbach in the 2nd Bundesliga. Here he immediately became a regular under Franz Brungs . In the 1984/85 season he left the club after his record season with 15 goals in 32 games and a total of 39 goals in 144 games towards 1. FC Saarbrücken .

Uwe Höfer only played four games here, and after only four months went to Alemannia Aachen in the FCS dress . In his first season at Tivoli , Höfer scored three goals in 19 games, in his second season he made only eight games and no goal. For the 1987/88 season he moved to Viktoria Aschaffenburg in the amateur league of Hesse. Höfer became known as "Uwe from the Hessenliga" when he scored the Bundesliga leaders 1. FC Köln with his winning goal in Aschaffenburg in October 1987 to make it 1-0 out of the DFB Cup . After the promotion, Höfer played 24 times and scored four goals. Then Höfer ended his professional career.

Höfer lives in Haltern am See in Münsterland and works as a commercial clerk .
