Uwe Hain (born October 18, 1955 in Schladen ) is a former German soccer player . In his active career, he played 45 Bundesliga games and 126 second division games as a goalkeeper . Today he is a coach and goalkeeping coach.
Career
Until mid-1972 he was in the ranks of SV Schladen. From the 1972/73 season until the end of June 1982 he wore the Eintracht Braunschweig jersey and played 38 league games. From 1982 to 1987 he was under contract with Hamburger SV and was used in seven first division matches. For the 1987/88 season he returned to the Braunschweig team in the 2nd Bundesliga, remained there until the end of 1991 and was used in 127 league games. In the first half of 1992 he was a member of FC St. Pauli . He played his last season in the 2nd Bundesliga in 1992/93 at VfL Wolfsburg . He then played from July 1993 for Wolfenbütteler SV at amateur level.
His greatest successes include winning the Bundesliga title in 1983 and winning the DFB Cup in 1987 as a substitute goalkeeper, but above all winning the European Cup with Hamburger SV on May 25, 1983.
Although he regularly showed excellent performances in his missions in the Bundesliga, he did not achieve more missions because the national goalkeepers Bernd Franke (Braunschweig) and Uli Stein (Hamburg) were his club-internal competitors.
From 1998 to 2009 Uwe Hain was goalkeeping coach at Eintracht Braunschweig in the third division. In the 1998/99 and 2000/01 seasons he also acted as an interim coach. He also coached the second team of Eintracht Braunschweig in the Oberliga Nord. In the meantime, Hain trained the Northern Harz division SV Schladen.
Since the beginning of the second half of 2014/2015, Uwe Hain has been training the Blankenburger FV , who plays in the national class.
Uwe Hain is the brother of former FC St. Pauli goalkeeper Mathias Hain , who is now also a goalkeeping coach and is currently under contract with FC St. Pauli.
