After he was only a substitute goalkeeper behind Rowen Fernandez at the end of the 2007/08 season and could not come to an agreement with the club on his contractual future, Hain moved to the second division club FC St. Pauli for the 2008/09 season , where he signed a two-year contract. In his last season, Hain was voted Armine of the Season by Arminia Bielefeld's fans.
