Uwe Herder

Uwe Herder (born September 1, 1942 in Königsberg ; † January 20, 1998 ) was a German politician and former member of the state parliament ( SPD ).

Life and work

After attending elementary school and high school , he completed an apprenticeship in concrete construction and then studied. From 1969, Herder worked as a transport engineer.

Political career

Herder had been a member of the SPD since 1968. He was active in various party committees and also a member of IG Bau-Steine-Erden and the Arbeiterwohlfahrt . He was a member of the city council of Wuppertal from 1975 to 1989. He was also a member of the landscape assembly of the Rhineland Regional Council from 1975 to 1980 , where he also contributed to the construction of the Burgholz tunnel, for example . From May 29, 1980 until his death on January 20, 1998, Uwe Herder was a member of the North Rhine-Westphalia state parliament . He was elected directly in constituency 033 Wuppertal I.

Others

In the state elections in 1975, Uwe Herder and his competitor Manfred Sanden from the Christian Democratic Union of Germany (CDU) received 27,425 votes. The then senior city director Rolf Krumsiek had to play “lucky fairy” and drew sand.
