Uwe Lagatz (born June 16, 1962 in Elbingerode (Harz) ) is a German educator and historian .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1981 and completing three years of military service in the National People's Army , Uwe Lagatz began studying pedagogy at the University of Leipzig in 1984 , which he successfully completed in 1989 as a history / German teacher. He then worked as a teacher in Derenburg and at the Stadtfeld grammar school in Wernigerode. From 1992 to 2006 he worked as a specialist seminar leader for history at the study seminar in Wernigerode and later at the state seminar for teaching posts in Magdeburg and was thus directly involved in the training of high school teachers. In 2003 he received his doctorate from the Faculty of Humanities, Social and Educational Sciences at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg , where he worked from 2006 to 2011 as a lecturer for didactics and methodology of history as well as national and regional history. He is currently the seminar leader at the State Seminar for Teaching Positions, Magdeburg branch.

In the year he graduated from university in Leipzig, his first contribution to regional history appeared in the regional press. This was followed by numerous scientific publications on the history of the city and county of Wernigerode, through which he developed into one of the most prominent historians in the region.
