Uwe Lambinus

Uwe Lambinus (born July 21, 1941 in Würzburg ; † December 31, 2019 ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life

In the civil profession, Lambinus was a senior official in the notary's service. In 1956 he joined the SPD. In 1967 he was elected first mayor of Zimmer (now a district of Marktheidenfeld ). At that time he was the youngest mayor of Bavaria. From 1971 to 1984 he was a member of the state board of the SPD Bavaria and until 2007 the board of the SPD Lower Franconia. From 1972 to 1994 Lambinus was a member of the German Bundestag . There he was active in the legal committee, home affairs committee and sports committee (deputy chairman). Lambinus has been a district councilor since 1972 and a city councilor (parliamentary group chairman) in Marktheidenfeld since 1996. In 2008 Lambinus withdrew from supra-local politics and since then has been honorary chairman of the SPD sub-district Main-Spessart. 1984 to 2003 he was president of the cycling and motorists association "Solidarity" Germany, later honorary president.

Lambinus was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class and the Bavarian Order of Merit as well as the Georg von Vollmar Medal . Since December 19, 2014, Lambinus was an honorary citizen of the city of Marktheidenfeld due to a unanimous decision of the city council.
