Uwe Neuhaus (painter)

Uwe Neuhaus (born January 22, 1942 in Mittenwald ) is a German painter .

Training and artistic work

He began his training in 1959 with Tobias Bartel at the former Munich Bavarian State School for Photography . From 1961 he was a student with Max Zimmermann at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich . Since then he has had numerous exhibitions, mainly in southern Germany. In 1987 the Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation dedicated a portrait to him, and a film was made about him at the Munich Film School. In 1991 the ZDF dealt with Uwe Neuhaus. Since the 1990s he has been increasingly involved with performances , stage design and art actions, with a focus on artistic educational work with children and adults. In addition to numerous solo and group exhibitions, there is an annual vernissage at his art courtyard in Opprechts near Altusried . In autumn 2013 Uwe Neuhaus was awarded the Oberallgäu district art prize. In 2014 he received the 19th Magnus Remy Art Prize.
