Uwe Neumärker

Uwe Neumärker (born September 7, 1970 in East Berlin ) is a German historian and publicist . He is the director of the Foundation Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe . From November 2015 to March 2016 he headed the Foundation Flight, Expulsion, Reconciliation on an interim basis .

Life

Neumärker studied German , Slavic and history in Berlin and Moscow.

From 1997 to 1998 he worked as a lecturer at Ch. Links Verlag . From 2000 to 2001 he worked as a cultural manager for the Institute for Foreign Relations in Lithuania. In 2002 he became a research associate at the Foundation Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe . In 2003 he took over the coordination for press and public relations. In 2005 he became managing director and finally director in 2009. Neumärker is the editor of numerous contemporary witness reports.

Memberships: among others, Scientific Advisory Board of the Flossenbürg Concentration Camp Memorial, Board of Trustees of the Ursula Lachnit Fixon Foundation, Chairman of the Board of Documentation Center Prora e. V., member of the advisory board of the Federal Magnus Hirschfeld Foundation .
