Uwe Wegehaupt

Uwe Wegehaupt (* 1958 in Quakenbrück ) is a German lawyer.

Career

Wegehaupt studied 1979-1984 in Regensburg and Münster law . In 1984 he passed his first state examination in law in Hamm, and in 1987 the second state examination in Hanover. From 1987 to 1994 he worked as a lawyer in the Oldenburg District Court. In 1994 he completed his doctorate and published his dissertation under the title Academic Freedom in Non-University Employment. in Bremen and he moved to Saxony-Anhalt as a judge on probation.

Appointed judge at the district court in 1996, he was entrusted with the duties of the acting director of the district court in Zerbst. From July 1996 to June 1997 he was seconded to the Naumburg Higher Regional Court . He then returned to the Zerbst District Court as a judge until 1998 , where he was again entrusted with the duties of the acting director. From 1999 to 2006 he worked as a judge at the Naumburg Higher Regional Court, including as a presidential judge . From May 31, 2006 to 2015, he was President of the Magdeburg District Court . In April 2015, Wegehaupt returned to Naumburg as Vice President of the Higher Regional Court. On December 29, 2016, he was appointed President of the Higher Regional Court.

Wegehaupt is a member of the advisory board of the foundation Rechtsstaat Sachsen-Anhalt eV
