VDI-Z Integrated Production is a German trade magazine that is published by VDI Fachmedien GmbH & Co. KG. It is the official body of the Association of German Engineers (VDI) for Production and Logistics (GPL). The magazine describes the production process , individual manufacturing technologies, provides information about innovations in the field and presents research and development in detail .

history

It was first published under the name of the Journal of the Association of German Engineers in January 1857 as a VDI association journal . Every VDI member was required to "support the magazine by notifying technical interests". In addition to scientific treatises, the journal of the Association of German Engineers also contained association communications. The initial circulation was 800 copies with a membership of around 250 people. The first chief editor was Franz Grashof . In 1911 the edition was 27,400 copies.

From 1862 the newspaper was published under the name Zeitschrift des Verein deutscher Ingenieure . With the January edition of 1872, the previously used Gothic script was replaced by Latin script , as Gothic script was seen as an obstacle to the spread of the magazine outside Germany. When the weekly journal of the Association of German Engineers went up in the journal of the Association of German Engineers in 1883, its publication cycle was changed from monthly to weekly. From 1908 the monthly Technik und Wirtschaft was added to the magazine , which later became independent.
