Valbeřice

Valbeřice (German Wallbergsdorf ) is an abandoned village on the territory of the municipality of Malá Morava in the Czech Republic . It is located six kilometers northwest of Hanušovice and belongs to the Okres Šumperk .

Valbeřice is located in the south of the Glatzer Snow Mountains in a left side valley of the March . To the north rise the Sviní hora ( Sauberg , 1073 m) and the Kámen ( Kronberg , 829 m). In the south lies the March valley with the railway line from Lichkov to Hanušovice and in the west the also extinct settlement of Krondörfl.

Neighboring towns are Vysoká in the northeast, Vojtíškov in the east, Vlaské and Křivá Voda in the southeast, Podlesí in the south, Vysoký Potok and Zlatý Potok in the southwest, Malá Morava in the west and Sklené in the northwest.

history

In 1792 a new settlement was founded west of Woitzdorf on the corridors of the manor Woitzdorf belonging to the Goldenstein lordship , which was called Walbergsdorf . In 1839 Walbergsdorf had 100 inhabitants and consisted of 20 houses. Since 1846 the spelling Wallbergsdorf was in use and the Czech name Walbergov is derived from it.

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Wallenberg village / Walbergov 1850 a district of the political community Woitzdorf in the district Šumperk and belonged to the judicial district of Old Town . In 1921 there were 101 residents in the village, all of whom were Catholics and belonged to the German ethnic group. Even in 1930 the village consisted of 20 houses and had 93 German residents. In 1936 the Czech place name was changed to Vlaské . As a result of the Munich Agreement , Wallbergsdorf was added to the German Reich in 1938 and belonged to the Mährisch Schönberg district as part of Woitzdorf until 1945 . After the Second World War, the German residents were expelled and the place, which was now called Valbeřice, was hardly repopulated. In 1960 the demolition of the dilapidated village including the chapel began. The fire brigade's syringe house , a barn and an empty house, which was demolished in 1965, have been preserved. The former barn is now used as a hunting lodge.
