Valea Poienii is a village in Alba County in Romania . It is part of the municipality of Râmeț .

location

Valea Poienii is located in the west of Transylvania in the Trascau Mountains . On the village road ( drum comunal ) DC 104, the village is about eight kilometers northwest of the community center.

population

The 54 inhabitants of the place (as of 2002) call themselves all Romanians . The number of inhabitants has decreased significantly since the first official survey in 1956 (then 290).

traffic

Valea Poienii is located away from major traffic routes. The settlement can be reached on an approximately 3 km long road, which branches off in Brădeşti from the equally unpaved road between Aiud and Abrud to the north. Public transport doesn't touch the place.

Attractions

The place is located in a valley of the brook Râul Valea Poienii , which is closed on all sides , which flows north of the settlement into the Peştera Dâlbina cave and flows underground there.

There are still several thatched-roof houses in and around the village, but these are no longer used for residential purposes.
