Valentin Chauvin (born December 30, 1995 ) is a French cross-country skier .

Career

Chauvin won the silver medal with the French relay at the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 2014 in Val di Fiemme and in 2015 in Almaty . His best results as an individual starter were seventh place over 10 km classic 2014 and the sprint in classic technique 2015. In the 2014/15 season , he took part in U20 competitions in the Alpine Cup. He achieved ten victories and won the U20 overall standings. In December 2015, Chauvin made his debut in the adult class of the Alpine Cup in Prémanon , where he finished third on the podium in his first outing over 15 km freestyle. In the 15 km classic race the following day, Chauvin finished eighth. The following month he came back on the podium in Planica with second place in the 15 km freestyle and a week later he achieved his first World Cup points at the World Cup debut in Planica with 27th place in the sprint and the next day with third place together with Richard Jouve in the team sprint also his first podium finish in the World Cup. At the end of the season he took third place in the overall ranking of the Alpine Cup. He repeated this overall ranking with two wins in the 2017/18 season.

In the 2018/19 season, Chauvin won the overall ranking of the Alpine Cup with four wins and one second place. At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2019 in Seefeld in Tirol , he ran on 37th place over 15 km classic.
