Valentin Daniel Preissler

Valentin Daniel Preissler (born April 18, 1717 in Nuremberg ; † April 8, 1765 there ) was a German engraver.

Life

Valentin Daniel was a son of the Nuremberg painter Johann Daniel Preissler and his wife Anna Felicitas Riedner († 1743). He did an apprenticeship with Bernhard Vogel . Later he spent two years studying with his brother Johann Martin Preissler in Copenhagen. The mezzotint edition of paintings by Johann Kupetzky , begun by Vogel, was completed by Preisler after his death and published in Nuremberg in 1745.

He was married to Anna Sophia Volland.
