Valentina Lodovini (born May 14, 1978 in Umbertide ) is an Italian film and television actress .

biography

Lodovini grew up in Sansepolcro and attended the school for dramaturgical arts in Perugia . Then she moved to Rome to continue her studies there at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia . After initially starring in several supporting roles in films, Lodovini was introduced to Carlo Mazzacurati 's drama La giusta distanza . For this film she was nominated for the David di Donatello in the category Best Actress .

In 2011 Lodovini won the David di Donatello in the category Best Supporting Female Role in the role of Maria in Willkommen im Süd . She also played this role in the film Welcome to the North .

In 2016 she was invited to the jury of the Orizzonti series at the 73rd Venice Film Festival .
