Valerie Chow
Valerie Chow ( Chinese 周嘉玲 , Pinyin Zhōu Jiālíng , Jyutping Zau 1 Gaa 1 ling 4 ; born Chow Ka-Ling ; born December 16, 1970 in Vancouver ) is a Chinese actress and model . She is also known by the stage name Rachel Shane .
Life and accomplishments
Chow is an only child. She graduated from Hong Kong University with a law degree . Chow finished runner-up in the 1991 Miss Hong Kong Pageant .
Chow was nominated for a Hong Kong Film Award in 1995 for her role in the drama Chungking Express (1994) . In the thriller Phantoms (1998) she played the role of a scientist at the side of Ben Affleck and Peter O'Toole . In the action film Fight of the Dragon (1999) she played a bigger role on the side of Dolph Lundgren .
In 1998, Chow was the first Chinese photo model to be hired by the cosmetics company Revlon . She has worked for the Hong Kong luxury goods company Lane Crawford since 2003 .
Chow has been married to designer Goveas Darryl William since 2005. She lives in Hong Kong.
