Valerius Wilhelm Neubeck (born January 21, 1765 in Arnstadt , † September 20, 1850 in Waldenburg ) was a German doctor and author.

Valerius Wilhelm Neubeck was the only son of the Arnstadt court pharmacist Wilhelm Friedrich Neubeck. In 1783 he came to the house of wealthy relatives in Liegnitz , attended the local high school and began studying medicine in Göttingen in 1785 , which he continued in Jena in 1787 and completed there a year later with a dissertation. He settled in Liegnitz as a general practitioner and in 1793 became Physicus of the Steinau district . Appointed Hofrat in 1822, he had to give up his job six years later because of his poor eyesight. In 1834 Neubeck lost his house with the valuable library in the great fire in Steinau. Neubeck moved to his son-in-law, the doctor Johann Wilhelm Ludwig Rau, in Waldenburg, where he died in 1850.

In 1795 Neubeck published the didactic poem "Die Gesundbrunnen. A poem in four songs" at his own expense in Breslau. the first chant deals with the origin of healing springs, the second enumerates the healthy wells in Germany, the third gives rules for using the springs and the fourth gives advice on strengthening and maintaining health. The book received little attention at first, until August Wilhelm Schlegel in 1797 in No. 243 of the Jena “ Allgemeine Literatur-Zeitung ” pointed out the importance of this work. Göschen in Leipzig brought out a new edition that was widely distributed.

Neubeck also published some medical articles in Hufelands Journal.
