The Romže is a right tributary of the March in Moravia .

It rises near the municipality of Dzbel on the edge of the Drahaner Bergland , flows around it in a south-easterly direction past the towns of Konice and Kostelec na Hané and joins the Hloučela after about 38 kilometers at Prostějov . The watercourse, which from here on is also called Valová , flows into the March at Uhřičice after another 15 kilometers . The source is at a height of 492  m nm , the mouth at 192  m nm. The catchment area covers a large part of the Okres Prostějov .

The upper reaches of the Romže flows rapidly and overcomes some rapids . On the middle course between Kostelec and Prostějov, the meandering river and the alluvial forests on the bank are under nature protection on 13.7 hectares as a natural monument Pod Zápovědským Kopcem . The monument was proclaimed in 1989 and primarily protects the habitat of rare amphibians and water birds. In the Hanna plain , which is used intensively for agriculture, the area preserves a rare remnant of the original alluvial forests. From Prostějov, however, the river is regulated and straightened almost over its full length.

Shortly before it flows into the March, the Valová near Uhřičice is crossed under the siphon of the Boleloucký mlýnský náhon ditch ( location ). The concrete tunnel completed in 1908 by the construction company Pittel + Brausewetter is a technical monument.
