The Vardim Rocks (English; Bulgarian скали Вардим skali Wardim ) are a chain of small islands and cliff rocks in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . From Devils Point , the southwestern extension of the Byers Peninsula on Livingston Island , it separates the Hell Gates strait to the north . They include Demon Island , Sprite Island, and Imp Island .
British scientists mapped it in 1968, Spanish in 1992 and Bulgarian in 2005, 2009 and 2010. The Bulgarian Commission for Antarctic Geographical Names named it in 2009 after the town of Wardim and an eponymous Danube island in northern Bulgaria .
