Vasile Vaida

Vasile Vaida (born November 23, 1909 in Câțcău , Cluj district ; † 1987 in Bucharest ) was a Romanian politician of the Romanian Communist Party PCdR (Partidul Comunist din România) , from 1948 PMR (Partidul Muncitoresc Român) and from 1965 PCR (Partidul Comunist Român) , who was among other things a candidate for the Politburo of the Central Committee (ZK) from 1948 to 1952 and also Minister of Agriculture between 1948 and 1952.

Life

After seven years of elementary school, Vaida attended craft school for three years and then worked as a shoemaker. He was involved from 1923 to 1926 as a member of the leather and shoe union and in 1935 became a member of the then Romanian Communist Party PCdR (Partidul Comunist din România) . He was also a member of the Red Aid (ajutorul roşu) between 1935 and 1941 . He was arrested on August 14, 1941, and on November 18, 1941 by the court martial of the 2nd Bucharest Sector for forced labor, a 500 lei fine and 1,000 lei court costs for complicity in murder, printing, production and distribution of manifestos, incitement on the basis of section No. 2183 sentenced to the commission of crimes against the state as well as membership in banned political organizations. After his release he became secretary of the party organization of the Patriotic Defense (Apărare patriotică) in May 1945 .

At the national conference (Conferința Națională) , which took place from October 16 to 22, 1945, Vaida became a member of the Central Committee (ZK) of the Romanian Communist Party PCdR (Partidul Comunist din România) for the first time and was a member of this until December 28, 1955. In 1946 he also became a member of the Grand National Assembly (Marea Adunare Națională) for the first time , where he initially represented the constituency of Someș and, between 1948 and 1969, the constituency of Ileanda No. 15 . In 1946 he also became head of the agricultural department of the PCdR Central Committee. At the Sixth Party Congress of the PMR (February 21-23, 1948) he became a candidate for the Politburo of the Central Committee and was a member of this body until the plenum of the Central Committee of the PMR on May 27, 1952. On April 14, 1948 he took over the post of Minister of Agriculture (Ministru al Agriculturii) from Traian Săvulescu and held it until he was replaced by Constantin Prisnea on May 31, 1952. He was then President of the Executive Committee of the Bucharest City Council between 1952 and 1956. At the Seventh Party Congress of the PMR (December 23-28, 1955) he lost his status as a member of the Central Committee, but remained a candidate for the Central Committee of the PMR until June 25, 1960. From 1956 to 1963 he was First Secretary of the PMR Party Committee in Cluj County and at the Eighth Party Congress of the PMR (June 20-26, 1960) he was again a member of the PMR Central Committee, to which he was a member until November 28, 1974.

Between 1963 and 1966, Vaida acted as President of the State Commission for the Safeguarding of Agricultural Products, since 1966 as President of the Pension Fund and the Social Security of the Members of the Agricultural Production Cooperatives and since 1967 as a member of the Executive Committee of the National Union of Agricultural Production Cooperatives UNCAP (Uniunea Națională a Cooperativelor Agricole de Producţie) . At the Eleventh Party Congress of the PCR (November 24-27 , 1974) he became a member of the Central Party College (Colegiului Central de Partid) . Most recently, at the Twelfth Party Congress of the PCR (November 19-23, 1979) he was finally a member of the Central Revision Commission, of which he was a member until November 22, 1984. In 1975 he was again a member of the Grand National Assembly, in which he held the constituency of Sebiș No. 7 until 1980 . While he was a member of parliament, he was also a member of the Committee on Health, Labor, Social Security and the Environment from March 22, 1975.

Vaida has received several awards for his many years of service, including the Order of Labor Second Class (Ordinul Muncii) in 1948, the Second Class Star of the People's Republic of Romania (Ordinul Steaua Republicii Populare Române) in 1948, and the Second Class Order for Defense of the Fatherland in 1949 ( Ordinul Apararea Patriei ) , 1959 the Order of August 23, Second Class (Ordinul August 23) , 1966 the Order of Tudor Vladimirescu Second Class (Ordinul Tudor Vladimirescu) and in 1971 the Order of Defense of the Fatherland First Class.
