Veggie burger
A veggie burger (word formation from vegetarian burger, " vegetarian hamburger") is a hamburger that does not contain meat .
The patty in the veggie burger consists of vegetables , nuts , mushrooms or other vegetable or vegetarian meat substitutes . Veggie burgers can be found in most major fast food chains today, but availability varies from region to region.
Meatless burgers have been available in Burger King branches since 1997 and meatless sandwiches have been available in most Subway restaurants since 2005 . From 1998 to the beginning of 2005, McDonald’s offered a vegetable burger in Germany under the name “Vegetable Mäc”. From February 2010 there was the "Veggieburger", which differed significantly from the previous product. It has been replaced by the vegan Big Vegan TS since April 29, 2019 . The vegan patties for the European McDonald's locations are manufactured by Tivall , a company belonging to the Israeli Nestlé subsidiary Osem Investments , in Krupka , Czech Republic . The vegan burgers are available in stores under the Garden Gourmet umbrella brand .
