Veit Etzold (* 1973 in Bremen ) is a German writer who became known for his bestseller Final Cut . He also works as a university professor for marketing.

Life

Etzold was born in 1973 in Bremen. After completing his professional training, he studied English , art history , media studies and general management in Oldenburg, London and Barcelona. In 2005 he received his doctorate in media studies for the film Matrix . His dissertation "Matrix. The Ambivalence of the Real" was published in 2006 by the First German Fantasy Club .

In addition to fiction books, Etzold also writes non-fiction books. His work The Jaws in Space describes the meaning and possibilities of storytelling and emotional messages in management and at the same time the loss of meaning of facts in the information society. It was 2013 career book of the year in the Hamburger Abendblatt

His book Strategy: Planen - Explain - Implement from 2018 was characterized by the Berliner Morgenpost as "unusual and inspiring". For the BILD newspaper he formulated seven golden strategy rules for the publication of the book; B. special career strategies for women.

Etzold is a professor at Aalen University for the subjects "Marketing and Positioning", "Strategy, Marketing Strategy and Market Research", "Sales", "Corporate Storytelling and Neuromarketing".

He has been married to Saskia Etzold, a specialist in forensic medicine at the Charité, since 2013 and lives in Berlin.

Book series "Clara Vidalis"

In 2012, Etzold began a series of books about the fictional Berlin investigator Clara Vidalis with Final Cut . The chief inspector is responsible for pathopsychology at the Berlin State Criminal Police Office (LKA Berlin) and is the protagonist of a total of six thrillers. The first four books (2012 to 2015) were published by Bastei Lübbe , the three following books (2017, 2018 and 2020) by Droemer Knaur .
