Veitsbuch is a district of the municipality of Weng in the Lower Bavarian district of Landshut . Until 1971 it formed an independent municipality.

Veitsbuch is located about two kilometers northwest of Weng in the Danube-Isar hill country .

history

In the 14th century, the women's monastery Mittelmünster St. Paul zu Regensburg owned goods in Veitsbuch and usually had them administered by secular officials. The monastery ministerial "Breath of the Amman von Sand Veitz Puch" bought in 1341 half a yard for himself and his brother Wernhart, "the Amman von Awe" ( Postau ) for eight pounds Regensburg pfennig. Even after Veitsbuch came into the hands of changing aristocratic families, the monastery retained ownership of the Ammerhof (Amtmannshof), as well as the right to present a clergyman for Veitsbuch at his will. In a directory of all the churches of the Rottenburg Care Court from 1484, the then already existing “St. Veicht-Kirchen zu Veichtspuech ”with their daughter churches.

Veitsbuch lost its status as Hofmark again when the Lords of Oberköllnbach succeeded in incorporating Veitsbuch as "Pertinenz". In 1752 there were eight properties in Veitsbuch, all of which belonged to the Hofmark Oberköllnbach. It was only after secularization in Bavaria and the liberation of the peasants that the peasants were able to remove the land that they had previously only cultivated from the state and thus make it their property.

In 1925 the parish village Veitsbuch comprised 11 residential buildings with 90 residents. The municipality of Veitsbuch was incorporated into the municipality of Weng on April 1, 1971 as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .

  • Parish Church of St. Veit. The baroque building was built in 1724. The interior contains a statue of Mary from around 1460 and altars from around 1710.
