VELFAC A / S is a Danish company based in Horsens . Velfac's main business area is the manufacture of windows and doors , especially for facades . The company is a subsidiary of the parent company Villum Kann Rasmussen Holding , which also includes the subsidiary Velux with its own product line. Velfac exports to numerous countries and has sales offices in England , the United States , Ireland , Sweden and Denmark . The head office is in Ringkøbing . The company has 759 employees and in 2008 had an annual turnover of over 1.3 billion Danish kroner (around 200 million euros).
history
In 1941 Villum Kann Rasmussen founded V. Kann Rasmussen & Co. This company founded the subsidiary Velfac in 1952; In 1962, Velfac becomes a registered trademark. Velfac has been producing windows and doors since the company was founded, initially with wooden windows and doors. The product range has been enlarged over the years and from 1980 the production focused in particular on wood-aluminum windows and doors.
In 2000 the company opened in Nørresundby the Velfac house with 8,000 square meters of production space, the house was extended in subsequent years piecewise. In addition, Velfac established exhibition halls in several Danish cities - in 2003 such houses were opened in Nørresundby, Horsens , Herlev , Odense and Ringkøbing , in Aarhus in 2005 and in Hillerød in 2007 .
