Veloroute 4 (Hamburg)

The bicycle route 4 is one of the 14 cycle routes in Hamburg . Over a distance of 18.5 kilometers, it connects downtown Hamburg via Winterhude with Langenhorn . As an everyday route (as opposed to a cycling route), Veloroute 4 connects destinations for daily mobility ( commuters , shopping, etc.).

Veloroute 4 leads over various traffic areas. These include lanes, bicycle lanes , bus lanes , cycle paths , cycle lanes and 30 km / h zones . There were intense public disputes about the establishment of the Fahrradstraße in Harvestehuder Weg , among other things because on the converted carriageway the car traffic at parked vehicles slowed down the bike traffic. Further measures have since been implemented.

Veloroute 4 is linked to Velorouten 1 and 2 via Jungfernstieg . At Sengelmannstrasse it is linked to Veloroute 5 .

Route

From the city center, the bike route initially leads along the Outer Alster . Then it leads through Winterhude to Alsterdorf . Past Fuhlsbüttel (with Hamburg Airport ) it leads to Langenhorn, where it ends at the Ochsenzoll underground station .
