The Medal of Merit for the Volunteers of the Spanish Civil War ( it. Medaglia di benemerenza per i volontari della Campagna di Spagna ) was an award of the Kingdom of Italy , which on June 6, 1939 by decree No. 1244 by King Victor Emanuel III. for the voluntary participants in the Spanish Civil War .

The bronze medal shows on its obverse a fasces in front of a swastika and the falange arrows behind it . Above the swastika there is a twisted line, the meaning of which is unknown. This symbolism is surrounded by the inscription VOLVNTARIO DE GVERRA . The lapel , on the other hand, shows a naked man in the middle, facing the sky, who is carrying an ax with his head down in his left hand and a sword pointing outwards in his right hand. This symbolism is also enclosed by the inscription GVERRA POR LA VNIDAD ESPANOLA . (Volunteers of the war in Spain). The medal was worn on the upper left side of the chest of the borrower on a malino-red ribbon, in the middle of which a yellow-red-yellow central stripe is woven.
