Refining (cooking)

Refining is a post- processing process in food processing. With this one enhances or "perfects" food .

In gastronomy , finishing is carried out by cooks and waiters . In the household it is directly linked to the preparation of food.

A distinction is made between the following processes for finishing:

• To taste
• Upgrade
• Glazing , masking or napping
• Sauce boats
• Flambé
• Garnish
