Artistic work

Verena Merz was a versatile, creative painter who was characterized by her love of experimentation. She processed her mostly large-format pictures on linen or kraft paper with various techniques and materials such as B. Sand and plaster. In addition to pictures and series in all formats, her numerous work and sketchbooks are of particular importance. Their motifs are mostly figurative, from cubes to narrative representations, often with play on words and neologisms. She expresses archaic animals and winged beings in her own mythology. The estate also includes an 8 mm experimental film and an extensive photographic work.
