history
The company was founded on September 13, 1935 as an independent publisher with the aim of supporting the growing traffic administration with practical official forms. VerkehrsRundschau was published in 1946 as the first specialist magazine after the Second World War . The Bavarian State Traffic Watch was founded four years later by Heinrich Vogel and the subject of "traffic safety" was the main focus of the publishing house.
The publishing house was sold in 1970 to Bertelsmann AG , which was setting up the transport department at that time. In 1991, the subsidiary Verlag Heinrich Vogel Schweiz is founded with headquarters in Urdorf . Ten years later, the publishing house takes over Die Führerprüfung (2001). In 2005 ffs Fahrlehrerfachschule is taken over. AH Verlags GmbH ( Bern ) is taken over in 2008.
As part of the sale of the BertelsmannSpringer Group to the investors Cinven and Candover, the Heinrich Vogel publishing house became part of Springer Science + Business Media in 2003 . In 2005 the Heinrich Vogel publishing house and Autohaus Verlag merged to form Springer Transport Media GmbH and have since formed a publishing house. Since 2010, the Heinrich Vogel publishing house has been one of two brands of Springer Fachmedien München GmbH in Germany.
