Verna Burnard

Verna Burnard ( Verna Jaye Burnard; born August 19, 1956 ) is a former Australian sprinter who specialized in the 400-meter run .

At the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal, she reached the semifinals over 400 m , where she despite a personal best and was fourth in the 4-by-400-meter relay .

In 1977 she was sixth over 400 m at the Athletics World Cup in Düsseldorf and fourth in the 4 x 400 meter relay with the oceanic team . At the end of the year she won the 400 m at the Pacific Conference Games .
