Río Vero in Barbastro

The Río Vero is a river in the Spanish province of Huesca . It rises with a spring only active in winter and spring at 1308 m above sea level on the Pueyo de Morcat in the Aragonese Pyrenees , flows through the karst formations of the Sierra y Cañones de Guara nature park and the town of Alquézar with impressive gorges described by the photographer Lucien Briet . In its further course it runs through the town of Barbastro and flows a few kilometers below into the Cinca . The length of the river is 60.9 km. The water flow is irregular.

Culture park

In 1998, the Parque Cultural del río Vero was created in the municipalities of Bárcabo, Adahuesca , Alquézar , Colungo , Santa María de Dulcis, Pozán de Vero, Azara , Castillazuelo and Barbastro, which contains prehistoric finds, medieval works of art and works of religious art.
