The Verona Cabriolet is a roadster produced in small series in the early 1990s . The manufacturer was initially Verona Automobile GmbH & Co. KG from Aschaffenburg , later ESW Automobile GmbH from the same town, later from Grünwald and finally Verona Automobile AG . The new price was 66,990 DM at the beginning, which however could rise to over 100,000 DM due to special equipment.

Furnishing

The basic equipment ex works included, among other things, chrome-plated bumpers , radiator grille , headlight housing , exterior mirrors and wire wheels.

The paint finishes Rosso Corsa , ivory , midnight blue and black were available . The interior and top colors were black , Sierra beige , dark blue , dark brown and mint green .

A differential lock (25%), anti-lock braking system , an automatic transmission, power steering , air conditioning and a hardtop were offered as special equipment . A roadster variant could also be ordered: The vehicle was then given special roadster doors with blind windows, side wind deflectors and a removable hood.

Chassis and body

The car is based on a tubular space frame made of high-strength, coated steel . The body consists of glass fiber reinforced plastic with so-called "sandwich inserts ".

The chassis has independent suspension at the front and rear and a stabilizer at the front. The tires are 225/60 VR 15 on chrome-plated spoked wheels of size 7Jx15.

engine

The carriage of a powered BMW M30 - the six-cylinder -Reihenmotor with a displacement of 3430 cc and a power of 155 kW (211 hp ) at 5700 / min. The transmission was also from BMW. The top speed was specified as 222 km / h, the acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in 6.4 seconds. Another version was offered with a 2.5-liter engine (2494 cm³) with 125 kW (170 hp) at 5800 rpm; Top speed of this vehicle: 210 km / h, acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in 8.3 seconds. Both variants had a regulated three-way catalytic converter .
