Veronika Koch born Nitschke (born October 8, 1972 ) is a German politician of the Christian Democratic Union of Germany (CDU).

Life

Veronika Koch grew up in Grasleben and passed the Abitur examination at the Julianum grammar school in Helmstedt in 1992 . From 1993 to 1997 she completed an administrative training at the Lower Saxony University of Applied Sciences for Administration and Justice in Braunschweig . After graduating with a degree in administrative management (FH), she worked as a civil servant for the city of Wolfsburg until she was elected to the state parliament in 2017 .

Veronika Koch has been the honorary mayor of the Grasleben community since 2011 . She belongs to the municipal council of Grasleben and since 2016 the Samtgemeinderat as well as the Samtgemeindeausschuss of the Samtgemeinde Grasleben .

In Grasleben she holds numerous honorary positions, is among other things chairwoman of the committee for the partnership between the integrated community Grasleben and the French canton Oulchy-le-Châteaux (since 2007), founder and board member of the Friends of the Grasleben swimming pool (since 2010), member of the parish council St. Ludgeri Helmstedt (since 2011) and founding member and chairman of the association Grasleben für alle eV (since 2016).

In the state elections in 2017 , she managed to move into the Lower Saxony state parliament , where she was elected spokeswoman for consumer protection and animal welfare. In addition, she is a full member of the Committee for Federal and European Affairs and Regional Development as well as the Committee for the Control of Special Police Data Surveys.

Koch is Catholic and has a daughter.
