Veronika Stirner Brantsch

Veronika Stirner Brantsch (* May 23, 1959 in Merano as Veronika Stirner ) is a South Tyrolean politician and member of the SVP's state parliament .

biography

Stirner Brantsch graduated from Beda-Weber-Gymnasium and then studied modern languages ​​and literature. After studying in England, France and the USA, she obtained the laurea . As a result, she taught English at several high schools. From 2000 to 2003 she was Merano city councilor for social affairs, German schools and women's issues. In 2003 she was able to win a mandate for the state parliament on the list of the South Tyrolean People's Party , which she chaired until 2006, and at the same time win the regional council of Trentino-South Tyrol . In the state elections in 2008, Stirner Brantsch was re-elected with 11,006 preferential votes. She achieved the same in the state elections in 2013 with 7,043 preferential votes. She did not run for the 2018 state elections and subsequently retired from active politics.

Stirner Brantsch co-founded the Children's Cancer Aid Peter Pan , initially led it and accompanied it as a long-standing member of the board.

On June 29, 2019, Stirner announced in an open letter to the SVP party chairman that she was leaving the party.
