The Versamer Tobelbrücke (also Versamerbrücke and Versamer Brücke ) is located half a kilometer as the crow flies northeast of the village center of Versam in the Graubünden Surselva in front of the entrance to the Safien Valley . As part of the Versamerstrasse , it spans the Rabiusa , which flows through the Versamertobel (also known as the Versamer Schlucht ) and flows into the Vorderrhein at the Ruinaulta .

Bridge until 2012

The old structure is a three-hinged arch - iron bridge of 70 meters in length, 1897 for a falsework of Richard Coray was built. Since the completion of today's bridge in 2012, it has been preserved for non-motorized traffic and as a witness to the steel bridge construction of the 19th century.

On November 15, 2010, construction work began on the new bridge, which is a little further up the valley and was put into operation in June 2012. This bridge design in the form of a reinforced concrete - blasting work is 112 meters long and 8.8 meters wide. The previous weight restriction of 13 tonnes for trucks on the route between Bonaduz and Versam was no longer applicable.

Historic bridge

Between 1828 and 1896 there was a wooden bridge with a span of 66 meters, which was constructed by Richard La Nicca . This bridge collapsed in 1896 due to architectural miscalculations.
