The Vertoletnyj Peninsula ( English ; Russian Полуостров Вертолётный Poluostrow Wertolotny , German 'helicopter peninsula' ) is a 4.5 km long and 2.2 km wide peninsula on the Knox coast of the East Arctic Wilkesland . In the Bunger Hills , it is 7 km east of Edgeworth David Base on the southwest corner of the Edisto glacier tongue . The peninsula is characterized by numerous hills and lakes .

Scientists on a Soviet Antarctic expedition mapped it and named it in 1956. The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia translated the name into English in 1992.
