Displaced Persons Monument in the United States
The only expellee monument in the United States is a reminder of the Danube Swabians . It stands in the memorial garden of the German-American Cultural Center of the Danube Swabians in Olmsted Falls , Ohio .
The main monument is the memorial stone (1990): “Donauschwaben. In memory of our dead in our old and new homeland. ”
“ To commemorate the victims of the wars and the innocents who had to lose their lives just because they were Germans - on the run, in the camps: Valpovo, Molidorf, Gakowo, Jarek , Mitrovica, Krndija, Rudolfsgnad , Kruschiwl u. a. as well as in the Baragan and in Russia. "
