coat of arms
Blazon : "Split of silver and green, in mistaken tinctures a fir tree accompanied by two lilies on a hill with three wavy lines."
The coat of arms symbols are based on the previously used, approved coats of arms of the former administrative communities as well as on the geographical and natural conditions that are essential for both regions. These are the Brocken, the forest and the rivers and streams. This content was designed by the Magdeburg local heraldist Jörg Mantzsch and included in the approval process.
