history

The administrative community emerged at some point from the administrative communities Elster and Seyda (names unclear). On March 1, 2004, the communities Gentha, Mellnitz and Morxdorf and the city of Seyda were incorporated into the city of Jessen (Elster) . On July 1, 2004, the municipality of Rade was incorporated into the same city, so that the VG only consisted of 6 municipalities. On January 1, 2005, the VG was merged with the administrative communities Mühlengrund , Südfläming and Zahna to form the new administrative community Elbaue-Fläming .
